The Cytological Study of Bone Marrow from Cancer Patient by Sternal Puncture

Abstract

|
|
Sternal puncture was performed on 38 cancer patients. Primary malignant tumors of bone marrow are excluded from this study.
Cytological studies using Wrights stain demonstrated cancer cells in 3 cases. All 3 of these were in the terminal stages of disease.
According to this study marrow study seems to be of no significant value for the purpose of early diagnosis.
